Our Story

Mike and Ann Walsh

Mike and Ann both have a passion for looking after people and a strong desire to offer our guests the best possible hospitality.
Prior to starting Tantallon Bed and Breakfast we travelled to British Columbia, Canada where Mike studied Forestry for five years and Ann worked for a cheese wholesaler, as well as enjoying an outdoor lifestyle.
We then moved to Vancouver Island for four years and worked a ten acre small-holding,
raising chicken, ducks & geese as well as growing organic vegetables and raspberries. Two of our three children were born in BC.
After four years in southern Ireland, where Mike looked after the woodlands for Blarney Castle, we finally returned to Scotland and settled in Edinburgh.
Mike managed the Urban trees in the city and Ann worked in University Libraries.
Upon retirement we fulfilled our dream of opening a B&B and now love meeting visitors from all over the world.
Our aim is to ensure our guests have a relaxed and comfortable visit and enjoy the best that Edinburgh has to offer.
Our ethos is a healthy, happy approach to life and we hope to share this with our visitors.

In our spare time Mike is an active gardener and Ann an enthusiastic cook, always trying out new recipes from around the world.
